Headstone Application

Application to erect a headstone in any cemetery belonging to the Council must in the first instance be made to the Council. At present the cost to process an application is £18.00 for an applicant who is resident of the Omagh District Council area and £36.00 for a non resident.

The area of the inscribed face of any headstone is the area of the front face which is visible above the finished ground level shall be not greater in area than .75 of a square metre (8 square feet) for a single plot and not greater than .90 of a square metre (10 square feet) for a double grave plot. No surrounds may be erected in the Greenhill Cemetery but this is allowed in the Fintona and Dublin Road Cemeteries.
