A GUIDE TO OMAGH DISTRICT COUNCIL’S PUBLIC CEMETERIES
Summary of Information
Omagh District Council is responsible for the general management, regulation and control of its cemeteries at Dublin Road, Greenhill and Fintona.

Purchase of graves
For enquiries relating to the purchase or location of graves contact the Grange on 028 82 256212 or Cemetery Caretaker on 028 82 244918. There are no graves available in the Dublin Road Cemetery and graves are sold in numerical order only in Greenhill Cemetery. Graves are also available at Fintona Cemetery.
Please contact an undertaker to arrange a funeral. Funerals should arrive at the Cemetery no later than 4.00pm during April – October, 3.30pm during November – March and between 10.00am and 3.00pm on any Sunday.
The Council maintains the paths, hedges, trees and grass areas in order to provide and attractive environment for visitors. No other planting or sowing of any description is permitted.
Where no headstone has been provided, one vase or similar vessel for holding flowers may be placed at the head of the grave. Wooden crosses are not permitted.
The design, dimensions and inscription of the headstone must be submitted to the Council for approval. The Cemetery Caretaker should then be advised of the date and time when a headstone is to be erected. The condition and safety of a headstone reamins the responsibility of the deed holder. If a headstone becomes unstable the is not made safe by the deed holder, it will be taken down by the Council.
The Council reserves the right to remove all wreathes three months from date of burial. In Greenhill Cemetery only, one permanent wreath shall be placed on any grave, at the stone slab provided for this purpose.
