Home Safety Visits
Home Safety visits are a free service aimed at reducing home accidents among older people and families with children under the age of five.
The main objectives of the scheme are to educate and advise on ‘good home safety practice,’ and to be instrumental in the reduction of deaths and injuries as a result of home accidents.
Every year in Northern Ireland over:-
- 71,000 people attend A&E
- 9000 people are admitted to hospital
- 70 people die
All of these are the result of home accidents
In addition to advice and education free safety equipment to reduce home accidents may be issued dependant on the outcome of the safety visit.
