Licence summary |
If you carry out activities that can affect the environment, under Schedule 1 of the Pollution Prevention and Control Regulations (Northern Ireland) 2003, and in particular affect emissions into the air you must hold a permit for your installation or mobile plant. Permits are obtained from Omagh District Council, Environmental Health Department, Lisnamallard House, Old Mountfield Road, Omagh, Co Tyrone, N Ireland BT79 7EG. Applications are made in writing (including by electronic means), contain specific information about the activity and will be subject to a fee. You must comply with any conditions attached to a permit.

You will not be granted a permit if the district council does not feel that you will ensure that the installation or plant will be operated in line with permit conditions.

Application Evaluation Process |
Omagh District Council will take into account that all appropriate pollution prevention methods are taken, particularly through best available techniques and that no significant pollution is caused. Omagh District Council may be required to give notice of your application to the petroleum licensing authority, dependent upon the activity you will carry out. They may also be required to give notice of the application to any other bodies the Department of the Environment require. If they intend to attach an off-site condition to your permit they will provide notice to you, or the owner, lessee or occupier of the land if not you. They must consider any representations made in relation to your application.

No. It is in the public interest that the authority must process your application before it can be granted. Failed Application Redress |

Tel: 028 82256202 Fax: 028 82248086 You may appeal against a decision to the Planning Appeals Commission. Appeals must be made in writing and given grounds for your appeal. The appeal time will vary dependent upon the type of appeal but for a failed application must be made within six months of the decision.

The appeal time will vary dependent upon the type of appeal but for an appeal against a condition, or for the refusal of a variation or transfer for example, these appeals must be made within six months of the decision.
