One of the newest and most exciting developments in Omagh Leisure Complex was when it opened its doors on 21st February 2003 to a host of excited children. Dr Gurgley's House of fun is an indoor adventure playground suitable for all children aged up to 10 years. The House of Fun is the invention of our own "Dr Gurgley" - the giant character loved by all the children in the district. He has worked tirelessly in his laboratory, deep beneath the Leisure Complex to create the perfect place for children.
The Legend of Dr Gurgley
In the North Atlantic Ocean during the Winter of 1987, just off the west coast of Ireland, grey rain clouds gathered.
As they briskly travelled inland, they gathered momentum & by the time they had reached the Sperrin Mountains a great storm had begun.
The rain fell for many days and the rivers began to swell, bursting their banks and creating what became "The Great Flood of '87".
Time passed and finally, waters began to subside. As if from nowhere, a giant bubble appeared and began to float up the Strule River.
People were amazed by its size and the strange shape that stirred within. The bubble took on a life of its own, propelling against the river's current.
When it reached the banks of the Leisure Centre a great crowd had gathered fascinated and enthralled by the occurrence.
Suddenly there was a loud "POP", the bubble burst and there before the crowd was the strangest creature Omagh had ever seen!
DOCTOR GURGLEY HAD ARRIVED!
He waddled off followed by hundreds of dancing children, towards the Leisure Complex and the cool blue pool that awaited his arrival.

Finally, after years of careful planning and inventing, Dr Gurgley produced the MOST EXCITING… THRILLING… & AMAZING ADVENTURE PLAYGROUND IN THE LAND! |
Dr Gurgley's House of Fun is open for casual users and can be booked by school and youth groups and various organisations. And the fun doesn't stop there! Spectacular birthday party packages are also available.

Monday to Thursday - birthday party and group bookings as requested
"Freaky Friday" - 3pm until 6pm (last session: 5pm) Price: Just £2.50 per hour!
Saturday - 10am until 5pm (last session: 4pm)
Sunday - 1pm until 5pm (last session: 4pm)
July and August:
Monday to Friday - 12 noon to 5.00pm (last session 4.00pm)
Saturday - 10am to 5.00pm (last session 4.00pm)
Sunday - 1pm to 5.00pm (last session 4.00pm)
