Countryside Access
Omagh District Council recognise that countryside access policies and decisions must be reached in a co-ordinated and representative way. As facilitators, the Council will work in partnership with Countryside Access & Activities Network, Environmental Heritage Service and local landowners towards common goals and a shared vision.

Access however, is not just about having the ability to freely avail of natural resources, access is also about the right of every single member of the community to be able to access as a right, the full range of opportunity that the Council and its partners can provide.
We will also assume a protection and maintenance role with regard to the environment and will not tolerate bad or dangerous practice that will harm the natural environment, and will adopt the outdoor code of ethics "leave no trace".
