 There are three mountain bike trails situated in the western section of the forest accessed from the Lisnaharney Road (off B48 Glenpark Road). The Trails are graded from Basic through Moderate to Expert, which is suitable for experienced cyclists only.
Please make sure you are aware of the personal safety requirements posted at the commencement of the trails.
Trail Information The trails are all waymarked with coloured arrows and follow forest roads, tracks and woodland sections. All trails start by following red arrows. Surface conditions vary on different sections and also vary from year to year and season to season. Be aware of loose stone surfaces as well as narrow and unevewn sections. Be aware of turf cutting/timber harvesting machinery.
Grading Basic Route (4 mls) - mostly on forest roads but includes short off-road section. Suitable for beginners. Moderate Loop (3 mls) - involves steep climb on forest roads. Off-road descent through woodland. Suitable for developing expertise. Off-Road Loop (2 1/2 mls) - Woodland section with testing gradients. Only suitable for more experienced cyclists.
Personal Safety Wear proper protective equipment. Adjust your speed according to terrain, gradient and personal ability. Alway let someone know where you are cycling and when you will return. Ensure the bike is well maintained. Obey warning and directional signs. Keep to the way marked trails. Remember other users of the forest. Treat fellow users of the trail with courtesy and consideration. Keep away from forest operations.
