Research Into Telecommunications Provision Within The Western Sub-Region Of Northern Ireland

The Councils of Tyrone and Fermanagh have a long history in working together for the betterment of the economy of the Western Sub-Region of Northern Ireland.  The aim of joint working was to promote greater co-ordination and cohesion amongst economic support agencies in the region and to strategically position the west as a place to do business.

To progress the work a Joint Committee was formed – The Western Economic Strategy Team (WEST) – and a strategy developed to help address the myriad of issues facing the area.  Among the actions within the strategy was to highlight the communications deficit within the Western Sub-Region and to this end WEST commissioned Analsys Mason to carry out a comprehensive piece of work in the field of telecommunications entitled “Research Into Telecommunications Provision within the Western Sub-Region in Northern Ireland”.
