Omagh Fund
This Fund was established by Omagh District Council soon after the Omagh bomb on Saturday 15th August 1998 with the objective of helping the bereaved families and the injured.
Originally five independent Trustees were appointed as follows:- Mr Sean O'Dwyer from Londonderry, Mrs Joy McCormick from Greencastle Co Donegal, His Grace the Duke of Abercorn and Dr Clifford McCord both from Co Tyrone and Dr Aideen McGinley from Co Fermanagh who resigned at the end of December 1999. Mr O'Dwyer was elected Chairman by the other Trustees and has continued in this role until the present time.
Mr Brian Oliphant of Magherafelt was appointed Fund Manager on the distribution side and to support the Trustees in their work.
The Fund has two separate elements firstly the income side known as the Omagh Memorial Fund which is administered by Omagh District Council through its Chief Finance Officer Mrs Joan McCaffrey and secondly the Omagh Fund which has two trust deeds one being Discretionary and the other Charitable and these are independently administered by the above Trustees.

Income donated to the Discretionary Trust amounted to £4,916,126 and £1,258,574 to the Charitable Trust totalling £6,174,700.
Payments have been made to the families of the deceased and to the physically injured amounting to £4,902,690
The accounts have been audited independently on three occasions by PricewaterhouseCoopers.
