Refuse Collection And Disposal

Household domestic black bins are collected fortnightly. As part of Omagh District Council’s Waste Management Programme a One Bin Per Household Policy for fortnightly collection is in operation.

Households with more than eight persons or a person with specific medical conditions can apply for a second bin collection. If you think your household qualifies for a second bin collection forms can be obtained by phoning Omagh District Council Works Depot 028 82247859.

Currently Omagh District Council disposes of approximately 15,696 tonnes of waste in landfill.

This costs the Council nearly £1.9 Million every year and will escalate as landfill charges increase.

Landfill tax is currently set at £48.00 per tonne and this figure will increase by £8.00 per tonne per year up to £72.00 per tonne over the next 3 years.

Our Landfill Site which is a jointly owned by Omagh District and Dungannon Borough Council is located 2 miles from the Ballygawley Roundabout on the road to Aughnacloy.
